Inversive Lab

Your use casedoesn’t existon the market yet.

Writing specifications, R&D missions, calls for projects, or developing technical building blocks for the platform: that’s the Lab. We don’t just deploy XR—we build the technological building blocks to deploy it tomorrow. The Inversive Lab has been working on these issues since the team was founded, allowing us to keep pace with market developments.

We are not a general-purpose engineering firm.We build reusable XR technology building blocks, well beyond the prototype stage. Our specialists in immersive scenario design, 3D production and software support your own subject-matter experts in defining and delivering the project that fits them, within their constraints. Our specialty: making sure that what works in a demo also works at scale, on the Inversive platform or anywhere else.

Production

What the Lab produces

  1. Technology building blocks for the platform

The headset welcome lobby, the web catalog, interface customization (colors, logos, navigation): all of it comes out of the Lab before it reaches the platform you use every day. Every building block is designed to be generic and reusable by all our clients.

  2. Immersive training content

When a training topic comes up with several clients — fire safety, hands-on technical skills, onboarding — the Lab turns it into a complete immersive experience: scenario design with your subject-matter experts, 3D environments and characters, interactions and voice-over. The most generic XR modules are integrated into the catalog. That is how the Classroom, our multi-purpose virtual space, came to be.

  3. PoC and exploratory projects

Augmented operators in mixed reality, haptic interfaces, local video stream processing: if your subject has an R&D or innovation dimension, the Lab is the right partner. These projects are often eligible for the CIR (France's R&D tax credit) or run under public calls for projects.

  4. Studies, specifications and scenario design

Before producing, you have to design. The Lab scripts the journey, mocks up the interfaces and runs the feasibility studies: architecture, hardware constraints, security and sovereignty requirements. It is the foundation that de-risks a deployment and frames production before a single line of code is written.

Audiences

Who it is for

IT and innovation leaders

Large organizations with an exploratory subject to move forward, or large-scale immersive content to produce.

Public-sector project leads

Calls for projects, France 2030, European programs. A sovereign XR technology partner.

Companies at PoC stage

Validate a use case before scaling up through the platform.

Not sure?

If your need matches an existing training module, the catalog is probably the right door. If you need to deploy and manage a headset fleet, that is the platform. The Lab is for everything that does not exist yet.

Call to actionNot sure the Lab covers your need?

We take on the challenge of building your project when it does not exist yet — but maybe it is already in the catalog, or your need is already covered by the platform?

Questions

Frequently asked questions

  • How is this different from the catalog or the platform?

The catalog offers ready-to-use VR content. The platform handles deployment and the headset fleet. The Lab designs and produces custom-built technology building blocks and immersive content, helps you specify and define your needs, and takes on the subjects that require an R&D phase.

  • Do you produce the content, or only the technology?

Both. The Lab brings together developers, game designers and 3D artists, and works hand in hand with your subject-matter experts: technical specifications, scenario design, art direction, modeling, integration.

  • What does it cost?

It depends on the subject. A few-week PoC and a three-year R&D program are very different things. We frame the scope together, then size the resources to allocate and the estimates that go with them.

  • Is my project eligible for the CIR or a call for projects?

Probably, if it involves a technological innovation dimension. We are used to structuring projects in that framework and can support you in putting the application together.

  • Do I own what you produce?

The building blocks developed specifically for your project belong to you. The generic, reusable ones developed alongside stay with Inversive. All of it is defined contractually up front.
